Job Code: KM-001
Title: Programme Editor
Location: Aba, Abia State, Nigeria (Hybrid: On-site + Remote Eligible)
About the Organization
An educational media organization is assembling its founding team to develop a new knowledge-sharing platform dedicated to preserving thoughtful conversations, educational programming and community engagement.
The organization believes that meaningful conversations should continue creating value long after they are first recorded. It is therefore building an editorial team committed to producing programming of enduring educational and human value.
This is an opportunity to help shape a new institution from its earliest days.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a thoughtful, organized and intellectually curious Programme Editor to oversee the development of one or more flagship programmes.
This role is not about managing broadcasts.
It is about cultivating ideas.
The successful candidate will identify contributors, help shape conversations, maintain editorial quality and ensure that every programme remains faithful to its educational purpose.
If you enjoy helping other people communicate their best ideas clearly and authentically, you may find this role deeply rewarding.
What You Will Do
As Programme Editor, you will:
- Develop and steward one or more flagship programmes.
- Recruit and support knowledgeable contributors.
- Work with contributors to organize and strengthen programme content.
- Review submissions for clarity, structure and accessibility.
- Coordinate recording schedules with the production team.
- Ensure that programmes remain educational, engaging and suitable for long-term archival preservation.
- Identify future programme topics and potential contributors.
- Collaborate closely with producers, archivists and community coordinators.
- Help preserve the editorial character of the organization.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is measured by outcomes rather than activity.
Successful Programme Editors consistently produce programmes that:
- remain valuable long after publication;
- encourage thoughtful discussion;
- reflect careful editorial judgment;
- preserve contributor authenticity;
- strengthen the organization's permanent archive;
- attract respected contributors who wish to participate again.
Who Will Thrive In This Role
You may be an excellent fit if you:
- enjoy helping people communicate clearly;
- are naturally curious;
- ask thoughtful questions;
- listen carefully before responding;
- write well;
- appreciate lifelong learning;
- are organized and dependable;
- can coordinate multiple conversations simultaneously;
- enjoy building systems rather than simply maintaining them.
Previous broadcasting experience is welcome but not required.
Strong editorial judgment, intellectual curiosity and excellent communication skills are considerably more important.

Why This Role Matters
Every organization preserves its values differently.
Some preserve buildings.
Others preserve products.
This organization preserves conversations.
As Programme Editor, you become one of the people responsible for deciding which conversations deserve to become part of that permanent institutional memory.
It is a position of stewardship as much as one of editorial responsibility.
